1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Mamawise mobile app and the mamawise.care website, both made by Meraki IT ("Meraki IT," "we," "us"). By downloading, installing, or using Mamawise, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. What Mamawise is

Mamawise is an offline, icon-led informational companion for pregnancy, birth, and the first six weeks postpartum. Its content is based on the World Health Organization's 2016 antenatal care guidance, adapted into plain-language, icon-led form.

3. Not medical advice

Mamawise is an educational and informational tool. It is not:

• a medical device or diagnostic tool;
• a substitute for regular antenatal, birth, or postnatal care from a qualified health professional;
• an emergency response service.

The app's danger-sign and check-in features are designed to help you recognise when to seek care and to prepare for a clinic visit — they do not diagnose, treat, or rule out any medical condition. Always follow the guidance of your own health provider over anything in the app, and always seek care in an emergency rather than relying on the app.

4. Your responsibilities

• Use your own judgment, and a qualified health professional's advice, alongside Mamawise — not instead of it.
• Keep your device and, if you use one, your PIN secure. Mamawise can't protect information on a device that others can access.
• Use the app only for its intended purpose, and not in any way that's unlawful or that could harm others.

5. No warranty

Mamawise is provided "as is." While its content is sourced from WHO ANC 2016 guidance and we take care in how it's written and reviewed, we don't guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for every individual circumstance. Health guidance that is broadly correct can still be wrong for your specific situation — this is exactly why the app is not a substitute for professional care.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Meraki IT is not liable for any harm, loss, or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, Mamawise, including any decisions made based on its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

7. Intellectual property

The Mamawise name, brand, design, and app content are owned by Meraki IT, except for the underlying WHO ANC 2016 guidance on which the health content is based. You may use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use.

8. Changes to the app and these terms

Because Mamawise's content ships without an app-store review cycle, content corrections and updates may be delivered at any time. We may also update these terms from time to time; continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised terms. We'll update the "last updated" date above when that happens.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, where Meraki IT is based, without limiting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the laws of your own country.
